Strength, Structure, and Second Chances.

Down But Not Out (DBNO) is a youth empowerment organization that helps young people rise through boxing, mentorship, and character development. We serve youth ages 10–18—especially those navigating adversity, seeking direction, or in need of consistent support and encouragement.

Our programs combine physical training with life lessons—reinforcing focus, discipline, and resilience in a supportive environment. Every session is a chance to grow stronger, more confident, and more prepared for what comes next.

At DBNO, we don’t just build athletes. We help shape leaders, teammates, and individuals who know how to show up for themselves and others.

Born from Experience.
Built for Impact

DBNO was founded by Alphonso Bailey, whose personal journey—from promising student athlete to incarceration, and ultimately to redemption—shaped the heart of this organization.

In prison, Alphonso discovered boxing, faith, and a renewed sense of purpose. He used the discipline of the sport and the power of mentorship to change his life—and committed to helping others do the same.

What began as his own comeback story has become a movement to empower youth through structure, guidance, and belief. DBNO exists because Alphonso knows what it’s like to be down—and what it takes to get back up.
